Video Production Coordinator
TechAfghanistan, a new interactive online magazine that provides valuable news and information products about technology, is looking for a committed and passionate video producer for our Videos Segment, also called TechTV. TechAfghanistan functions as a resource and news portal on latest developments, events, research, and personalities associated with technology in Afghanistan and elsewhere. It offers a fun, stimulating and tech-focused work environment with numerous opportunities to learn and grow professionally.
We will be producing short videos profiling individuals from the local tech community, how-to videos and news clips. We are looking for an energetic and creative team member who will be responsible for creating compelling video content for web, social media and other digital platforms. The ideal candidate must be enthusiastic, motivated and deadline conscious. There is potential to learn on the job.
Collaborate with other production and creative staff through all phases of production
Set up and operate various production equipment including cameras, audio and lighting for on-location and studio productions and post-production software
Assist in developing video strategies for a variety of media channels, including social media, websites and blogs. This may include writing treatments, scripts and interview questions for a variety of video content types.
Maintain video production equipment
Stay up-to-date with best practices for digital video production
Keep up with current trends/platforms/happenings, make recommendations for optimization
Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management
Conducts self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image
Bachelor’s degree required
1+ years of experience crafting, editing and publishing video content online
Strong knowledge of all aspects of video production including post-production video workflow and asset management
Experience with DSLR cameras, sound and lighting equipment
Experience with Adobe Premiere, PluralEyes, and other video editing software including but not limited to Final Cut 7, Adobe After Effects, Flash, Photoshop
Color correction experience (still and video)
Intimate knowledge of ever changing social platform video guidelines/format and restrictions, as well as SEO best practices
Strong individual contributor who is collaborative and thrives in a team environment
Ability to manage workflow and meet deadlines
Ability to approach problem solving with resourcefulness and creativity
Still photography experience a bonus
